Job Summary
Sr. Software Engineer / Jr. Platform Architect sought to lead design and implementation of a cloud-based Veteran-Directed Care FMS platform, enabling enrollment, budgeting, payroll, tax filings, caregiver management, budgeting workflows, and compliance tasks. Responsibilities include architecting secure, configurable APIs; coordinating offshore engineers; ensuring multi-state scalability; leading core services (budgeting engines, timesheet processing, caregiver management, financial reconciliation); implementing secure authentication, authorization, auditing and data integrity; mentoring a distributed team; and collaborating with UX/Product to deliver Veteran- and caregiver-friendly experiences. Required 8+ years software development, strong C#/.NET, REST APIs, Azure, SaaS delivery, experience with regulated environments (healthcare/financial services/FMS), distributed teams, and data modeling; preferred alignment with veteran-serving programs and VA program requirements. Role is remote, full-time, with salary $150,000–$175,000 USD annually.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years software development experience
- Extensive expertise in C# and .NET
- Experience building REST APIs and scalable backend systems
- Experience working in cloud environments (Azure required)
- Experience working with distributed engineering teams
- Strong SQL database design experience
- Experience delivering SaaS platforms
- Experience developing platforms in regulated environments (healthcare, financial services, FMS, or similar)
- Experience with HIPAA, VA policies, and security/compliance considerations
