Sr. Software Developer - Java

Job Summary
Analyze phone configuration documentation and create integration specifications aligned with Call Server requirements. Lead implementation and validation of changes for new and updated phone models, investigating complex VoIP, SIP, and networking issues. Develop and maintain high-quality, maintainable Java code while creating technical configuration guides for Development, QA, and Support teams. Implement analytics and usage metrics, performing profiling and performance optimization of the phone provisioning server. Provide technical guidance on development and testing best practices while continuously developing expertise in VoIP technologies and endpoint provisioning. Collaborate regularly with Product Owners and Development Leads. This role supports Intermedia's cloud communications platform, requiring occasional office visits in Coimbra or Aveiro.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or relevant technical education in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience with server-side development in Java
- Linux server development experience, including Nginx, Tomcat, and command-line tools
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or Percona
- Basic knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and IP networking
- Basic knowledge of network programming, including sockets and TCP/UDP
- Basic understanding of IP security principles, including TLS and certificate management
- Experience using Wireshark or tcpdump for network analysis and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of IP phones, endpoint devices, device configuration, and provisioning mechanisms
