Sr. Site Reliability Engineer I

Job Summary
Build robust, easy-to-use Kubernetes platforms and tools that enable engineering teams to provision and operate services rapidly, consistently, and securely. Exemplify cloud-native site reliability best practices by writing performant, maintainable code and employing strong problem-solving skills to debug distributed systems. Employ technical project management skills to scope, plan, and define work, while influencing the engineering organization to adopt improved architectural patterns. Provide robust documentation for self-service and continually seek improvement within the entire platform org for reliability, operability, and cost efficiency. Work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays with remote flexibility on Mondays, reporting to the APX SRE organization.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of applicable experience in Platform engineering, and container orchestration
- United States Citizen — able to gain CJIS clearance for full US production access
- Experience building platforms on either Azure or AWS (preferably both)
- Building, operating, and innovating clustering solutions for Kubernetes platforms like AKS, EKS, or similar in production at scale
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go, C#, Java, and others
- Building, operating, and managing infrastructure and systems that are highly revenue, security, and/or health and life-safety critical
- Experience utilizing CI/CD platforms to automate provisioning infrastructure, software builds, tests, and releases
- Experience using observability tools such as APM, logging, and metrics to assist with debugging issues
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools for provisioning flexible and testible modules such as Terraform, Pulumi, or similar
- Experience designing tooling to simplify the operational management of SaaS/PaaS systems
- Empathy to support the needs of software engineers
- Location: This role is based out of our Seattle office and follows a hybrid schedule
- We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation
