Job Summary
Sr. Service Technician at Canadian Solar in Ottawa, ON, responsible for commissioning and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB) and fulfilling obligations under Long Term Service Agreements for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Requires willingness to travel to project sites throughout Ontario, with emphasis on on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support, supervision of sub-contractors when required, and development of standard operating procedures. Candidates should have an Electrical Engineering background, 5+ years in a service environment (renewable energy preferred), knowledge of MV power systems and PV/energy storage applications, CMMS experience preferred, and strong communication and project-management skills.
Required Qualifications
- Educational background in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years' relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy
- Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and photovoltaic or Energy Storage system applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality
- Previous experience with a CMMS software program is preferred
- Ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)
