Job Summary
As a Sr. Service Technician at Canadian Solar, you will be integral to the service team, primarily responsible for commissioning and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB) and fulfilling obligations under LTSA for Battery Energy Storage System projects. You will provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment and meet availability and capacity guarantees, supervise sub-contractors on site, assist in developing standard operating procedures, perform Lockout/Tagout and switching procedures, and analyze performance data to determine root causes and trends. The successful candidate must be willing to travel across Ontario to project sites and bring prior experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a service environment. A background in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant service experience, along with CMMS familiarity, are highly valued.
Required Qualifications
- Educational background in Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years' of relevant work experience in a service environment
- Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and photovoltaic or Energy Storage system applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)
