Sr Service Engineer, Avionics Service and Support (Onsite)

Job Summary
Provide on-site maintenance capabilities, including component triage, testing, and repair of avionics equipment on ground, airborne, and shipboard platforms. Interface with military customers, pilots, and maintainers to coordinate activities, document discussions, and advise on physical installations. Execute program milestones, manage critical paths, and review execution plans with the Service Engineering team lead. Participate in determining assignment objectives and train system users ad-hoc or in the classroom. This onsite role at Naval Air Station Fallon, NV, requires a Secret clearance, 5+ years of experience, and may involve 10-25% travel and atypical hours based on customer needs.
Required Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Active and existing security clearance on day 1
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Current, valid driver's license
- Experience with Python programming
- Experience with Wireshark
- Linux administration experience or CompTIA Linux+ certification
- Experience in avionics
- Experience in integration
- Experience in post-installation testing
- Experience in certification activities
- Experience training customers and system users
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds independently
- Travel for this role averages 10% and can exceed 25%
- Network certification (e.g., CompTIA Network+)
- Field service experience
- Previous range experience (PODs/Operators/etc.)
- Prior military experience
