Sr. Security Software Engineer (Starshield)

Senior Security Software Engineer for SpaceX Starshield focusing on securing Starshield software across products. Design and build security infrastructure including cryptographic services and security-critical components for Starshield systems (routers, dishes, gateways, satellites). Develop security features and integrate security into factory processes; maintain and improve production security posture; build prototypes and help identify and test security improvements. Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM and 5+ years of security software development, or 7+ years in lieu of a degree. Proficient in Python, C++, or Golang; experience designing security for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure. Preferred: experience with TPMs/HSMs, strong cryptographic and network protocol knowledge, ability to work independently or in a team, excellent communication, adaptability to new technologies, and an Advanced degree. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/DOE-level clearance per ITAR requirements. ITAR: U.S. citizen/national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee or eligible for required authorizations. Compensation: $168,000–$230,000/year plus incentives, benefits, and time-off; locations include Hawthorne, CA and Washington, DC.
