Sr. Scientist

Senior Scientist role in OPI R&D focused on end-to-end product development for nail products. Hands-on laboratory position performing batch formulation, formulation screening, and performance testing; build and deepen category expertise; collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Education, Insights, and external partners to define product requirements, develop formulation pathways, validate performance, and create claims and demos for launches. Responsibilities include SAP data entry, GLP-compliant laboratory practices, technical documentation (briefs, test plans, stability reports, substantiation of claims), and contributing to stage-gate driven project timelines. The role emphasizes data integrity, demonstrable lab discipline, formulation optimization, material screening, and development of compelling product demos and storytelling for internal and external stakeholders. Requirements include a BS (MS a plus) in chemistry/materials/polymer science or related field, hands-on formula/product development experience (beauty industry preferred), strong communication/presentation skills, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. Salary range: $80,000-$100,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits.
