Job Summary
Support drug product development teams by selecting appropriate excipients based on chemical compatibility, functional performance, and processability. Lead cross-functional assessments of material and supplier exploration for novel formulation platforms, collaborating with toxicology, analytical development, quality, and procurement. Design and execute experiments for excipient characterization to generate in-depth material understanding that supports formulation design and process development. Develop the excipient control strategy in collaboration with the product development team and suppliers, accounting for regulatory compliance during qualification for clinical and commercial use.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Bio engineering or Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Profound knowledge of material (excipient) properties, characterization and drug product manufacturing methods
- Hands-on expertise of analytical and physical characterization techniques
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and to prioritize based on insights into business value and risk
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in drug delivery of oral peptides
- Familiarity with opportunities to enhance permeability and stability
- Experience with targeted or local delivery
- Experience with lipid-based formulation design and process development (liposomes, solid-lipid nanoparticles, SNEDDS)
