Job Summary
As a Sr. Scientist at Illumina, you will utilize your electrochemistry expertise in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with internal and external partners to advance next-generation sequencing technologies. Key responsibilities include designing and interpreting experiments, innovating solutions to electrochemical challenges, and working with teams comprised of chemists and engineers. The position requires a Ph.D. in Electrochemistry or related fields, along with knowledge of electrochemical methods and good communication skills for reporting and collaborative efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Electrochemistry, Chemistry or Material Science
- 0-3 years post experience in industrial or academia
- Expertise in electrochemistry and electrochemical techniques pertaining to biodetectors
- Experience in method development of stability of the electrode system using electrochemical, analytical and surface analysis tools
- Experience in electrochemistry in constricted volume
- Experienced use of data and risks to formulate clear decision criteria to influence technical direction at a project level
- Experience with a wide range standard analytical techniques and surface characterization techniques
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in micro/nano-fabrication of electrodes
- Understanding of microfluidics, fluorescence based assays, and fundamentals of DNA (bio)chemistry
