Job Summary

Receive, process, assess quality of, and prepare human and animal study specimens including tissues, plasmas, and PBMCs for distribution. Maintain high-density archive rooms, manage specimen inventory, and track shipments of media and reagents to external vendors. Perform equipment verifications, reconcile customer and manufacturer reports, and serve as the first point of contact for specimen quality and service level concerns. Work independently in laboratory settings requiring PPE, lifting up to 40 lbs, and standing for full shifts. Follow SOPs, maintain safety awareness, and implement process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
  • Standing for full shift
  • Will work with hazardous/toxic materials
  • Associates Degree in Related Field (and HS Diploma or equivalent)
  • Proven verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Experience in a GXP laboratory setting or services
  • Proven excellence in customer service skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Problem solver
  • Promotes team environment
  • Computer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to instantly adapt to a flexible and changing schedule
  • Ability to self-manage and operate independently
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing work assignments
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Must successfully complete and satisfy Thermo Fisher's pre-employment screening (including background check and drug test) and any customer-mandated screening, credentialing, or badging requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 2-3 years of dynamic proven experience preferred
  • Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies in any process and make recommendations for improvement
  • Experience in a GXP laboratory setting or services preferred
