Sr Safety Manager

Job Summary
Oversee the implementation of the Gilbane Cares safety culture and develop project-specific safety plans based on Safety Alignment Assessments. Conduct at least six SafetyNet inspections monthly, utilizing the platform to audit team implementation, analyze trending reports, and coach project teams on hazard identification and corrective actions. Ensure all safety incidents are investigated and closed per policy while providing mentorship to junior Safety Managers and developing training within the Business Unit. Support business development by responding to client safety pre-qualifications and presentations, and collaborate with the Safety Director on initiatives and industry peer meetings.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of construction safety management experience
- Associate or Certified Safety Professional certification
- Certified and authorized instructor by GU and OSHA to teach safety courses to employees and contractors
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety and health principles, techniques, methods, regulations, and interpretations
- Capable of identifying current and future potential exposures and recommending corrective action
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Ability to manage and execute a safety program within a Business Unit
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering preferred
