Job Summary
Provide senior interim financial leadership across multiple US Oncology practices during transitions or elevated operational needs, ensuring continuity and strategic oversight. Partner with physicians and executive leadership to assess performance, set goals, and drive corrective actions while integrating activities spanning general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Establish internal control frameworks, review transactions for risk exposure, and lead process standardization or technology initiatives. Guide interim accounting staff and support the onboarding of permanent controllers to ensure smooth handoffs. Requires 12+ years of experience, 25% travel, and the ability to operate independently with high autonomy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, controllership, FP&A, or related fields
- Demonstrated experience operating in complex, multi-unit or multi-practice environments
- Ability to travel approximately 25%
- Deep accounting and financial leadership expertise
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management and physician leadership
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate independently with limited direction in ambiguous or high-pressure environments
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated success influencing outcomes across functional teams without formal authority
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk assessment
- Strong executive presence and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Customer-facing mindset with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights
