Job Summary
Sr. Research Scientist role focused on graphite and/or SiC materials with leadership in R&D, driving innovation and development from research through scale-up to manufacturing. Responsibilities include leading research activities, developing new processes for graphite/SiC materials, planning and executing R&D projects, collaborating with internal/external customers, identifying design spaces, contributing to technology roadmaps, and mentoring teams while applying lean and Six Sigma methodologies and integrating AI/data-driven approaches. Requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans and measurable improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related technical field
- experience with graphite, silicon carbide or other carbide materials systems
- ability to lead research and development activities and projects
- ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams
- ability to translate abstract information into actionable plans
- excellent communication and record-keeping in English
- experience with technology roadmaps and scale-up to manufacturing
- ability to comply with export control requirements
