Job Summary
Remote, full-time Senior Regulatory Specialist focusing on rate-case development, exhibits and testimony for utility regulatory filings; serves as SME in preparing exhibits, testimony, and cross-examination/rebuttal strategies; supports outside consultants; ensures consistency of exhibits with Company positions; builds relationships with regulators, consultants, auditors, public advocates, and internal personnel; analyzes rate orders and regulatory pronouncements to provide actionable recommendations; stays current on rate-setting processes and policy changes; maintains knowledge of company policies and administrative processes; assists in training rate analysts; comprehensive benefits package including PTO, health/dental/vision/life, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and more; travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or related field
- Graduate degree and/or CPA preferred
- 5-10 years utility accounting or other relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in rate setting regulatory procedures
- Strong judgment and decision-making abilities
- Ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources
- Excellent relationship-building skills with internal/external stakeholders and all levels of management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Workspace
- Ability to learn new platforms
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under strict deadlines
- Outstanding communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of utility regulatory frameworks, operations, engineering, and finance
- Experience preparing and presenting rate case testimony and exhibits
- Ability to mentor less experienced staff
