Job Summary
Assess the nutritional status of patients, translate physician-ordered diets to meet individual needs, and develop care plans for inpatients and outpatients. Coordinate with clinical staff to create nutritional plans by reviewing patient records and documenting the plan of care in the clinical record. Identify potential problems through direct observation or data analysis, institute corrective action, and individualize care to address personal, safety, mobility, and specialized dietary needs. Communicate verbally, in writing, and through databases with physicians, nurses, and other team members regarding nutritional needs, risks, and patient requests. Perform counseling and nutritional health teaching, ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory policies, and complete required vaccinations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Master's Degree
- Three years' technical experience
- Leadership experience
- Dietetic internship or its equivalent
- Registered Dietitian (RD)
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation
