Job Summary
Assess the nutritional status of patients, translate physician-ordered diets to meet individual needs, and develop care plans for inpatients and outpatients. Coordinate with clinical staff to create nutritional plans by reviewing records and assessing the best course of action for therapy and services. Document the plan of care in the clinical record, identify potential problems through direct observation or data analysis, and institute corrective action. Individualize care plans to address patient safety, mobility, dietary, and specialized needs while communicating nutritional risk factors and education requests to the healthcare team. Perform counseling and nutritional health teaching, ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's)
- Master's Degree
- Dietetic internship or its equivalent
- Registered Dietitian (RD)
Desired Qualifications
- Three years' technical experience
- Leadership experience
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership
