Job Summary
Assess the nutritional status of patients and translate physician-ordered diets to meet individual needs while developing comprehensive care plans. Coordinate with clinical staff to create nutritional plans by reviewing patient records, identifying potential problems through direct observation or data analysis, and instituting corrective action. Individualize care plans to address patients' personal care, safety, mobility, and specialized dietary requirements while maintaining active communication with physicians, nurses, and other team members regarding nutritional risks and education requests. Perform counseling and nutritional health teaching to patients, ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies, and document all plans of care in clinical records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's)
- Master's Degree
- Three years' technical experience
- Leadership experience
- Dietetic internship or its equivalent
- Registered Dietitian (RD)
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation
