Job Summary
Senior R&D Sensor Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design of patient monitoring consumables and optomechanical components across the product lifecycle. You will own complex design tasks balancing performance, manufacturability, usability, patient safety, cost, quality, and schedule; develop specifications and manufacturing documentation; apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, material characterization, and finite element modeling; build CAD models and prototypes in SolidWorks; design tests to evaluate adhesion, durability, optical performance, and patient interface interactions; and collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, systems, clinical, suppliers, and operations to ensure designs are feasible and manufacturable. Preferred experience includes sensor development, MATLAB/Python, Finite Element Modeling, thin films and flexible materials, design for manufacturability, and experience with optical sensing and oximetry systems. For U.S. locations, salary range is $105,600 - $158,400 and includes benefits; sponsorship is limited to Principal-level roles and above. U.S. work authorization sponsorship is offered exclusively for Principal-level roles and above; other roles require unrestricted U.S. work authorization at hire. This position is onsite four days per week in Lafayette, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 4+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience in the medical device industry
