Job Summary
Senior R&D Gummy Formulator responsible for designing, evaluating, and refining gummy supplement formulations from bench-top to pilot-scale through commercial launch; ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, cGMP, labeling, allergen controls) and maintain technical documentation; collaborate with Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and Commercial teams; provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members; focus on texture, flavor release, sweetness modulation, and consumer sensory experience while optimizing manufacturability and cost.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or another related scientific discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Pectin Gummy formulation development within dietary supplements and nutraceuticals
- Demonstrated expertise specifically in gummy formulation and processing
- Strong understanding of gummy systems including vegan applications, texture balancing, mouthfeel optimization, and sweetness modulation
- Working knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP standards, 21 CFR Part 111 requirements, labeling compliance, ingredient safety evaluation, GRAS considerations, and allergen controls
- Experience evaluating raw materials, managing supplier relationships, and balancing formulation performance with cost considerations
- Familiarity with analytical and quality testing methods such as rheology, pH testing, texture analysis, stability protocols, and shelf-life evaluation
- Knowledge of sensory testing techniques and flavor profile development for consumer-friendly products
- Effective project management skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines and cross-department initiatives simultaneously
