Job Summary
Sr. R&D Engineer will lead development of implant and catheter designs for cardiovascular surgery, applying mechanical engineering principles to solve complex problems, develop test strategies, and ensure regulatory-ready performance. Responsibilities include designing, modifying, and evaluating implant and catheter components; creating first-principle models; conducting reliability analyses; performing root-cause investigations; collaborating with internal/external stakeholders and regulatory bodies; and guiding junior engineers in an innovation-driven environment. Key skills include SolidWorks CAD, catheters and stents experience (notably with Nitinol), advanced engineering analysis, data-driven decision making, and strong communication for cross-functional and executive interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Biomedical or related field
- 4+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- CAD experience especially in SolidWorks
- Experience with catheters and stents, especially with Nitinol
- Demonstrated aptitude for assessing emerging technologies
- Demonstrated business acumen, executive presence, and communication skills
- Proven skills in quantitative analysis and data-driven decision making
- Experience with conducting strategic brainstorm sessions and ideation activities
- Strong ability to work in a dynamic environment
