Job Summary
Senior QA Engineer to join the Digital Engineering team and help build real-time, distributed software for railroad automation products (TripOptimizer, Locotrol XA, MyRailYard). 80% manual testing and 20% test automation, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers. Responsibilities include test planning, writing and executing test cases, diagnosing bugs, making technology choices, developing maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression testing, and integrating testing with CI/CD pipelines. Qualifications emphasize BE/BTech/MTech in ECE/CS/EEE/IT or MCA, 6-9 years QA experience, experience with Java-based applications and web frameworks (Angular, HTML), CI/CD (GitLab), Agile/Scrum, Linux/Unix/Windows, and databases (Oracle, Postgres, SQL); Python/Selenium automation is a plus. The role involves working on railroad domain challenges and learning about large railroad operations, with a focus on improving product quality and delivering secure, scalable software.
Required Qualifications
- BE/BTech/MTech in ECE /Computer Science /EEE /IT or MCA
- 6-9 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance
- Knowledge of QA methodology and industry-standard testing and bug tracking tools
- Experience in testing applications built in Java and related technologies and web frameworks such as Angular and HTML
- Working knowledge of CI/CD to support continuous deployment process (preferably with Gitlab)
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience in Linux/Unix and Windows environments
- Experience with relational databases like Oracle, Postgres and SQL
- Good to have experience in test automation using Python/Selenium
- Expert in communicating cross-functionally and across management levels
