Job Summary
Serve as the senior strategic contact and primary escalation point for high-complexity provider organizations, including IPAs, MSOs, hospitals, and medical groups, maintaining executive-level engagement and alignment with SCAN's strategic objectives. Own regional provider performance strategy, driving measurable improvements in quality, cost, utilization, and access while leading complex performance reviews and governance forums. Analyze provider-level data to identify trends and risks, developing corrective action plans with defined milestones and governance oversight. Partner cross-functionally with Contracting, Network Operations, Clinical, and Quality teams to align enterprise strategies and coordinate provider initiatives. Lead investigations of high-impact escalations, conducting root cause analysis to implement sustainable process improvements that mitigate operational and regulatory risk. Provide subject-matter leadership by coaching and mentoring Provider Relations Leads to strengthen performance management capability and data fluency across the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7 years of relevant healthcare / health plan or Medicare Advantage experience in a Provider Relations or similar role
- Experience working with delegated or risk-based provider arrangements
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives
- Experience presenting to executive provider leadership
- Experience managing complex provider relationships
- Demonstrated performance improvement leadership
- Advanced technical skills for functional area
- Advanced problem-solving skills and critical thinking capabilities that tie to functional strategy
- Advanced ability to partner with variety of functions across the enterprise
- Advanced experience developing relationships with all provider types
- Must live in or within a reasonable commute of the Houston, TX area
