Job Summary
Sr. Project Engineer to lead and manage mechanical aspects of capital improvement projects for four paper machines, power and recovery, and the OCC plant. Responsibilities include designing and directing installation of mechanical products and plant systems, analyzing equipment specifications, evaluating feasibility of new designs, guiding long-range planning, coordinating construction of machine improvements, investigating failures, and collaborating with maintenance to troubleshoot issues. Requires Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 5+ years of project engineering experience (manufacturing preferred), CAD proficiency, knowledge of piping systems, structural steel, and civil design, and strong problem-solving/communication skills. Travel up to 25% may be required. Relocation assistance is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in project engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in the paper or packaging industry is a plus
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with piping systems, structural steel, and civil design
