Job Summary
Manage engineering scope for commercial solar, storage, and EVSE projects from due diligence through closeout, overseeing permitting, vendor contracts, design packages, and equipment procurement. Ensure compliance with Project Agreements and maintain technical and economic feasibility while tracking budgets and performing installation inspections. Support design review and value engineering for energy storage, microgrid, and PV systems, validating third-party designs and optimizing controls schemes. Collaborate with Operations and Asset Management for project handoff and contribute to design best practices. Work with internal teams and consultants to deliver integrated onsite energy solutions for top commercial and municipal clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5+ years of experience in Solar or BESS system design/project engineering
- Working knowledge of National Building & Electrical Code as it pertains to energy storage, photovoltaic and EVSE
- Working knowledge of SCADA/relay/curtailment systems
- Ability to articulate complex issues through succinct, cohesive summaries and presentations
- Possess a diplomatic, persuasive, and articulate communication style
- Ability to work well in a team environment with proven attention to detail
- Ability to travel periodically to job sites
- Willingness to embrace and defend a culture of respect, communication, and accountability
- Must be a hybrid role out of one of our offices (Mountain View, CA, San Diego, CA, Los Angeles, CA, or New York, NY)
Desired Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering Preferred
- other Engineering or STEM degree
- Experience with medium and high voltage equipment preferred
- Experience with EVSE a plus
