Job Summary
Senior Project Engineer to lead engineering execution across the full project lifecycle for large-scale power infrastructure supporting critical data center operations. Responsibilities include leading engineering activities from conceptual design through detailed design and construction handoff; managing external engineering firms to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality; developing and reviewing engineering deliverables (drawings, specifications, design packages); conducting constructability reviews; partnering with Project Managers and Project Controls to manage schedules and budgets; coordinating cross-functional stakeholders; identifying and mitigating risks; driving design optimization and adoption of best practices; mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of engineering excellence and safety. Requires ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree, 7–9 years in electric utility engineering/operations, 1–3 years leading teams/projects, strong budgeting and regulatory familiarity, and PE license or ability to obtain; PMP preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited)
- 7–9 years of experience in electric utility engineering or operations
- 1–3 years of experience leading teams, contractors, or projects
- Strong knowledge of utility infrastructure, engineering design, and construction practices
- Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
- Familiarity with industry codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and AutoCAD (or equivalent)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT drug testing
