Job Summary
Senior Sr Project Engineer (Modernization) at ABB Bangalore focused on leading small- to medium-sized process automation service projects. Responsible for design authority within instrumentation/electrical discipline, preparing technical specifications and engineering deliverables (SLD, GA, FDS), conducting technical reviews, overseeing testing, installation and commissioning activities, assisting in proposals and cost estimations, and collaborating with business resources to deliver timely, cost-effective solutions in process automation, with substantial exposure to ABB systems and virtualization technologies. Hybrid work model in Bangalore; 6–8 years of relevant experience; B.E./B.Tech in instrumentation/electronics/electrical engineering; strong background in DCS/ICSS and safety systems and in delivering pre- to detailed-engineering documentation.
Required Qualifications
- B. Tech / B.E from a reputed University
- First class in Instrumentation or Electronics or Electrical engineering
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in process or safety systems
- Experience in process or ICSS and safety systems (fire & gas protection systems or emergency shutdown systems)
- Knowledge of brownfield scope of work for DCS modifications, retrofits, upgrades, service and commissioning
- Hands-on experience in producing documents ranging from pre to detailed engineering and FAT & IFAT
- Experience in virtualization concepts, ESXi setup, RAID configuration and VMware configuration
- Experience with ABB systems like 800xA, Symphony Plus, MOD300, SG400, Advant, AC800M, Melody, AC500 (advantage)
- Ability to create work plans and cost estimations and ensure quality deliverables on time
- Ability to interact with customers, contracting, and stakeholders
- Willingness to collaborate across disciplines and deliver solutions in the process automation domain
