Job Summary
Independently manage project engineering functions including RFIs, submittals, procurement, document control, closeout, and project logs. Coordinate communication with owners, architects, design teams, subcontractors, and field teams while leading the RFI and submittal processes to ensure clarity, accuracy, and schedule adherence. Proactively track procurement, long-lead items, and material deliveries, identifying and communicating cost or schedule impacts related to changes. Support project schedule updates, short-term planning, and closeout activities such as punch list tracking and final turnover. Provide technical support to project leaders and field teams, participate in QA/QC processes, and mentor junior engineers. Requires 5+ years of commercial construction experience, proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam, and ability to work in both office and active jobsite environments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction or project engineering experience
- Strong understanding of RFIs, submittals, procurement, document control, change management, scheduling, QA/QC, and closeout processes
- Experience supporting or coordinating subcontractors, design teams, owners, and field teams on commercial construction projects
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, and other construction management software
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and project documents
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks, evaluate options, and escalate issues when appropriate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage individual time effectively while supporting, coaching, and following up with Project Engineers and interns
- Ability to work in both office and active construction jobsite environments
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain during jobsite walks
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when on jobsites
- Ability to use a computer, phone, and standard office equipment for extended periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Revit, Navisworks, scheduling software, financial systems, or related construction technology
