Job Summary
Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead control systems projects from feasibility through commissioning for North American pulp and paper facilities. Responsibilities include guiding projects through all phases, designing and developing modern control systems (hardware and software), building control algorithms, testing and troubleshooting for performance and compliance, producing technical documentation, and leading checkout and commissioning activities with training for operations and maintenance teams. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers, supporting estimates and proposals, project planning, risk mitigation, and upholding quality standards. Requirements include a degree or diploma in engineering, BC registration (EIT/P.Eng./AScT), 10+ years of industrial experience, hands-on DCS/PLC/HMI experience, strong communication/leadership, travel willingness, and legal entitlement to work in Canada. Salary range 120,000 to 160,000 CAD. Location is Canada (British Columbia) with on-site expectations; travel to project sites domestically and internationally is implied. Location: Automation & Digitalization division at ANDRITZ.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering
- Registration as EIT, P.Eng., or AScT in British Columbia
- 10+ years of industrial experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Hands-on design and configuration experience with DCS platforms (e.g., ABB, Emerson, Foxboro, Honeywell)
- Experience with PLC/HMI systems
- Willingness to travel to domestic and international project sites
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Pulp & Paper and consulting experience is a strong asset
