Sr. Project Engineer - Construction

Job Summary
Oversee and execute project controls and management for a multiple discipline EPC project, including direct support for installed quantity monitoring, contract administration, procurement, and project reporting. Lead field engineers and manage a team of 100 people as needed, while representing the company in all client interactions and developing site-specific safety plans. Create quantity calculation formulas, master project schedules, and change orders; review field purchase orders and subcontract administration functions. Direct material takeoffs from drawings, coordinate work groups, and generate invoices and Schedule of Values. Monitor labor, material, and equipment costs to forecast cash flow and suggest corrective actions. This role involves extensive travel, up to 90% of the time, with an average project duration of 8-18 months.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related
- 7 plus years' experience as a Field Engineer or similar role
- Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
- Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
- Willing to travel extensively and relocate to the next project location for an extended period (typically 6-12 months.)
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
- Must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements
- Must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights
