Job Summary

Supervise project controls activities, including schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, cost engineering, cost analysis, and cost control. Lead preparation, review, and presentation of cost engineering, planning, scheduling, and project controls deliverables. Monitor project performance, identify cost and schedule trends, analyze risks, and recommend innovative solutions to support project success. Provide expert guidance and resolution of complex project issues requiring independent analysis, creativity, and sound judgment. Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) by managing control accounts, monitoring cost and schedule performance, implementing corrective actions, and providing accurate project status reporting. Apply expert knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes to monitor and improve project performance. Provide leadership, supervision, training, and direction to technical and non-technical personnel. Support complex projects with significant technical, non-routine, or high-value requirements in both field and home office environments. This role supports the Los Alamos National Laboratory, where GEM Technologies, Inc. manages nuclear explosives safety and reliability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 12+ years of relevant experience
  • United States (U.S.) citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
  • Extensive experience in project controls, cost engineering, planning, scheduling, and project management
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects and resolving challenging technical or project execution issues
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Schedule development, maintenance, control, and analysis
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Financial reporting systems and project performance measurement
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes
  • Experience supporting project controls functions in both field and home office environments
  • Knowledge of engineering and/or construction management principles
  • Knowledge of project financial systems, controller account codes, financial status reports, and earned revenue determination processes
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and training technical and non-technical staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer operating systems, standard software applications, and discipline-specific project controls software
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop objectives, processes, and solutions using advanced technical knowledge and professional principles
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, corrective actions, status reporting, and technical project execution
