Job Summary
Oversee construction management, QA/QC, and team development for Tennessee Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) services. Ensure compliance with plans and specifications, review change orders and payment applications, and lead field staff scheduling. Develop relationships with public clients including local governments and coordinate with contractors to address construction issues. Conduct engineering calculations, review material sampling, and utilize automated design systems. Manage resources effectively while mentoring staff and solving technical problems. Requires 10+ years of experience in transportation projects, a PE license in Tennessee preferred, and ~10-20% travel.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management
- 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation or infrastructure projects
- Hands-on experience delivering CEI or construction management projects
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and QA/QC practices
- Experience leading teams and managing complex field operations
- Proficiency with construction tracking tools (e.g., SiteManager) and Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel to project sites (~10-20%)
- Maintain a valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee
