Job Summary
Sr Production Underwriter responsible for profitably underwriting complex new and renewal middle-market business in the New Jersey territory, managing a renewal book, and meeting profit and premium plans. Responsibilities include risk selection, pricing, contract terms, account management, agency partner collaboration, and in-person/virtual sales with agencies and insureds. Serves as a subject matter expert, mentors team members, collaborates with underwriting and business-unit partners, completes agency reviews, and supports deployment of underwriting training. Requires leadership capabilities, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to travel within the territory. Pays attention to regulatory compliance and stakeholder management; candidates benefit from a four-year college degree and advanced designations (AU/CIC/CPCU) and have 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
