Job Summary
Drive results on key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity by working with the Supervisor to promote teamwork, train others, and resolve production needs. Review orders and documentation to ensure the team has accurate information, then communicate updates and resolve issues across departments. Assist in the assessment, selection, and training of employees while delegating tasks to meet production goals, including stepping into an associate capacity during absences. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead assigned projects to completion. This role supports inbound and outbound shipments and inventory management at the Sumter, SC facility, requiring a flexible workforce with cross-training in critical positions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- 1 year of manufacturing or operations experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Persuasive skills
- Analytical problem solving skills
- Able to direct and influence others without formal leadership authority
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs
- Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint
- Working knowledge of Lean concepts
- Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel
- Frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip
- Frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds
- Frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds
- Far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination
- Regularly required to listen and to talk
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Lean concepts
- 6 months of leadership experience managing people or project teams
- Experience with Eaton systems including order entry (Vista), material management (DMM), MRP/ERP (AS400)
