Job Summary
Review and manage incoming aerial imagery and LiDAR data, including receiving, tracking, archiving, and processing airborne/ground GPS-IMU data using software packages like Microstation and TerraSolid. Evaluate pre- and post-processed digital imagery and LiDAR data to ensure quality meets project specifications, report QC results, and update standard operating procedures. Provide technical support, perform independent quality reviews, and report project status to the GeoPositioning Team Lead. Work independently with up to 20% travel, reporting to the GeoPositioning Team Lead on matters affecting product quality.
Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
- Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Sciences, GIS, or a related field of study
- Minimum of 1 year of production experience in processing lidar data, lidar-derived productions, and other types of terrain products
- Working knowledge of lidar processing and QC software packages: Microstation, TerraSolid, LP360, Global Mapper, ArcGIS, LASTools, etc.
- Strong understanding of both GPS and remote sensing techniques and principles
- Thorough and technical understanding of lidar technology, data quality, and relevant industry standards
- Experience with MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently without supervision as well as within a team
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Must be able to travel up to 20% for job functions
