Job Summary
Own and refine the ONTAP systems platform strategy, developing multi-generation roadmaps with Engineering and Operations to prioritize performance tiers and technology transitions. Lead concurrent new product introduction programs across platforms and components, driving requirements and cross-functional execution through all lifecycle phases. Synthesize enterprise customer and field needs to inform design decisions, while defining competitive positioning against major storage vendors to improve win rates. Partner with Product Marketing to develop packaging, configuration guidance, and field-facing documentation that reduce quoting friction and accelerate customer time-to-value. Serve as the primary accountability for platform lifecycle outcomes, including EOA/EOL strategy and sustaining plans, while communicating tradeoffs to executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of product management or technical product planning experience in enterprise infrastructure, storage, or related hardware/software domains
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage systems and architectures, including NAS and SAN protocols and modern data center infrastructure
- Proven experience leading complex NPI programs through the full lifecycle: concept> requirements > development > GA > sustaining
- Experience driving cross-functional execution with Engineering, Operations, supply chain, finance, and go-to-market teams
- Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to represent complex platform tradeoffs clearly to senior stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with NetApp ONTAP or comparable unified storage data services, and how platform hardware enables performance, density, and supportability
- Experience with storage economics ($/GB), capacity/performance tiering, and platform generation transitions
- Direct competitive experience against major enterprise storage vendors
- Experience positioning storage for AI, virtualization, mission-critical databases, and other enterprise workloads
- Experience creating field-facing packaging, configuration guidance, or enablement content
- Demonstrated success partnering closely with Engineering and Operations on complex platform programs
