Job Summary
Senior Product Manager for SLDS overseeing UI customization and design-systems roadmap across SLDS 1 and SLDS 2. Responsibilities include shaping the UI customization roadmap, defining requirements and acceptance criteria for styling capabilities, collaborating with design and engineering on strategy, and prioritizing opportunities based on user insights and business objectives. Own the Design Systems website roadmap to enhance developer/designer documentation, component references, and contribution guidance, driving builder self-service and reducing support burden. Maintain platform health and backward compatibility across SLDS releases, collaborating with design tooling teams to keep Figma UI kits, linters, and validators in sync with the component library. Qualifications emphasize deep knowledge of CSS architecture, design tokens, accessibility (ARIA, screen readers), and experience with design-system tooling. The role requires ownership of backlog and release roadmaps, with strong communication skills and the ability to work across engineering, design, and accessibility specialists. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time on design systems, component libraries, developer tools, or frontend platforms at scale
- Deep understanding of CSS architecture, design tokens, and component-level styling
- Fluent spoken communication with engineers about styling API decisions
- Bridging design and engineering with DOM, CSS, ARIA, and accessibility knowledge
- Experience writing rigorous acceptance criteria, managing agile backlogs, and leading cross-functional delivery
- Strong analytical instincts with telemetry, accessibility audits, and user research to drive prioritization
- Clear, concise communication across technical and non-technical audiences
