Job Summary
Senior Product Development Engineer responsible for designing, testing, validating, and releasing to production all new products and product enhancements, including design-related cost reduction efforts. Leads cross-functional teams through the engineering lifecycle, develops schedules and budgets, defines product specifications, prepares technical data packages, and drives prototypes from concept through production. Creates and modifies 2D/3D CAD drawings (SolidWorks), generates BOMs and test plans, maintains drawings libraries, and conducts prototype assembly and testing to verify form, fit, and function. Applies GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) to reviews, leverages FEA as appropriate, and coordinates cross-functional reviews to identify risks and implement corrective actions. Drives technology evaluations, ensures ISO standards compliance, maintains confidential information, and facilitates communication across departments. Periodic travel to support project and client needs. Firm emphasis on safety, workplace organization, and an at-will employment posture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in new product development in a manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of CAD (Solidworks preferred) with FEA and GD&T knowledge (ANSI Y14.5)
