Job Summary
Lead engineering design and development of new plumbing products from concept through commercialization, translating customer needs and market trends into innovative solutions. Own technical execution of multiple concurrent projects, develop CAD models, and lead engineering design reviews while applying Design for Manufacturing and Failure Mode Effects Analysis principles. Manage cross-functional teams including Product Management, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive accountability, remove barriers, and ensure timely delivery within budget. Partner with domestic and international suppliers to support tooling reviews, production qualification, and pilot builds. Report to the Director of Quality & Engineering as a senior individual contributor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design and development
- Demonstrated success leading complex product development projects
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
- Experience with engineering analysis tools including tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, PPAP, and Design for Manufacturing
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including injection molding, stamping, machining, die casting, elastomers, and assembly
- Experience working with domestic and international suppliers
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively from engineering teams to executive leadership
- Proven ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in plumbing products, building products, hardware, consumer products, or industrial manufacturing
- Experience with plumbing codes, NSF, cUPC, low-lead regulations, or similar industry standards
- Experience using FEA analysis and rapid prototyping technologies
- PMP certification or formal project management experience
- Lean or Six Sigma certification
- Experience with ERP and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
