Job Summary
As a Senior Manager of Procurement/Sourcing at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will develop complex global category strategies and guide cross-functional teams to optimize spend, enhance supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement. This role demands strong category management expertise, managing procurement teams, negotiating global agreements, and collaborating effectively across functions. Candidates should possess excellent analytical skills, strategic sourcing knowledge, and experience in regulated industries. A Master's degree and significant experience in procurement/sourcing are required, with a focus on building partnerships and delivering strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree plus 6 years of experience in procurement/sourcing in large matrix organizations with increasing global responsibility
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience in procurement/sourcing in large matrix organizations with increasing global responsibility
- 7+ years category management experience with demonstrated expertise in assigned categories
- 3+ years people management experience leading procurement teams, including coaching and development
- Strong strategic sourcing and category management process knowledge, including AQSCIR methodology
- Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year category strategies to reduce total cost of ownership
- Excellence in stakeholder management and ability to collaborate across functions
- Strong negotiation, analytical and presentation skills with executive-level communication abilities
- Experience working in regulated industries (life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device preferred)
- Expertise in supplier relationship management, contract development and risk mitigation
- Proficiency with eSourcing tools, spend analytics and procurement systems
- Project management skills with ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Strong business acumen and understanding of P&L, financial planning and forecasting
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certifications preferred (CPSM, CPIM, PMP or equivalent)
- International/multi-cultural work experience preferred
