Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and optimization of process engineering systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities, including process utility systems, tool installation, and facility upgrades. Develop and review process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations while providing technical leadership for chemicals, gases, ultrapure water, and specialty process systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients and vendors to ensure technical alignment, perform process analysis and troubleshooting, and support commissioning and startup activities. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role is part of the Critical Infrastructure team, supporting advanced manufacturing and high-tech facility projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 8+ years of relevant process engineering experience, with significant experience in the semiconductor industry
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing environments, including cleanroom operations and high-purity process systems
- Experience with semiconductor process utilities such as: Specialty gases, Bulk chemicals, Chemical distribution systems, Ultrapure water systems, Wastewater treatment systems, Vacuum systems, Exhaust systems
- Proficiency in developing and reviewing: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Equipment and system specifications, Process calculations and design documentation
- Strong understanding of applicable engineering codes, standards, and safety practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on-site in Boise, Idaho, or relocate as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer license PE or ability to obtain
- Experience supporting large-scale semiconductor fab expansions, retrofits, or greenfield projects
- Familiarity with hazardous production materials (HPM) systems and related safety requirements
- Experience with commissioning and startup support in semiconductor facilities
- Knowledge of project delivery in EPC, design-build, or consulting engineering environments
- Master's degree in engineering or related discipline
