Job Summary
Design processes and machinery for aluminum nitride semiconductor substrate production, including developing test procedures, hardware, and software while validating measurement accuracy and characterizing device performance. Plan long-term assignments requiring data-driven decision making, oversee new process development and production controls, and review equipment for repair or replacement recommendations. Apply analytical thinking to solve production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling, maintaining knowledge of emerging manufacturing technologies. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with 3-10 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience, based in Green Island, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment
- Working knowledge of semiconductor substrate processing relating to areas such as CMP, wire-sawing, grinding, surface treatments and characterization techniques, AFM, XRD, wafer shape inspection systems and methods, or other applicable areas in the production of semiconductor substrates
- Understanding of production principles, metrology, yield and KPI's
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Experience with relational databases (SQL)
- Experience with scripting using JMP
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Visual basic
