Job Summary
Develop process control methods and programming for existing processes, capital projects, and manufacturing expansions to improve plant capacity, efficiency, and safety. Create engineering standards for all Cal Carb plants and optimize existing process control logic while troubleshooting issues with plant personnel. Direct contractor activations and supervise sub-contractors during project execution, evaluating new technologies and managing data collection using OSI Pi. Manage multiple competing projects with tight deadlines and budget requirements, requiring up to 20% travel to support other CalCarb Plants.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a 4-year engineering degree at an accredited university
- At least 7 years Process Control experience in manufacturing
- Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering background
- Working knowledge and programming of Allen Bradley PLC's
- Working knowledge and programming of Contrologix 5000
- Working knowledge and programming of FactoryTalk HMI
- Ability to install and troubleshoot Ethernet/IP systems
- Ability to install and troubleshoot DeviceNet systems
- Proficient with ladder logic control
- Proficient with PLC operations
- Proficient with systems interface
- Proficient with instrumentation schematics
- Proficient with one-line diagrams
- Proficient with electrical drawings
- Ability to manage time and priorities
- Ability to effectively handle multiple competing projects with tight deadlines and budget requirements
- Ability to practice good management skills required to direct and supervise contractors
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, plan, organize, and document project requirements
