Job Summary
Sr Principal Software Engineer leading DS3 SW bid and proposal efforts for the DARC program. Acts as the DS3 SW proposal lead, develops the DS3 SW proposal approach and supporting artifacts, labor BOEs and pricing in collaboration with business management, supports the DS3 Integrated Master Schedule and SW development timelines, and develops and manages DS3 SW proposal risk and opportunities. Supports startup and technical execution of the DS3 program within the SW discipline as an individual contributor or team lead. Requires active DoD Secret clearance and travel (10%). Relocation assistance may be available. Preferred Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; background in software development (Java, C++, JavaScript), microservices, estimation tools (SEER-SEM), EV concepts, Agile practices, and SW CDRL artifacts.
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application
- 8 years with a Bachelors in Science degree
- 6 years with a Masters in Science degree
- 3 years with a PhD in Software development experience (Java, C++, Java Script)
- Experience with microservices based architectures
- Familiar with estimating methodologies and tools (i.e., Cost History, System Evaluation and Estimation of Resources – Software Estimation Model (SEER-SEM))
- Familiarity with RedHat Linux environments
- Understanding of Earned Value (EV) principles
- Familiar with Agile principles and use of JIRA and Confluence
- Familiar with SW CDRL items (i.e., Software Requirements Specifications, Software Design Descriptions, Software Version Descriptions)
