Job Summary
The Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) mechanical engineering role focuses on development, build, and verification of control actuation systems, supporting primarily PCAS Integrated Product Teams with hands-on hardware work, design, testing, and systems engineering. Responsibilities may include detailed mechanical design, earned value management, test design and execution, systems engineering, and working with servo control actuation technology across CAD, simulation, and manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience in mechanical engineering design
- Or Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 7 years experience
- Experience with servo controls and development of CAS requirements/architecture
- Experience with feedback control systems, sizing, testing, integration, design-for-manufacturing
- Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation
- Experience with Matlab, Simulink, and dSpace
- Proven knowledge of machined parts, injection molded parts, sheet metal fabrication, BLDC motors
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5
- Ability to deconstruct higher level tasks into discrete work packages

- Active DoD Secret security clearance required on day 1
- U.S. government issued security clearance eligibility
