Sr. Principal - HSE Occupational Hygiene/Safety

Job Summary
Lead and collaborate with the workforce to ensure execution of health and safety programs, procedures, and supporting processes by providing technical expertise and counsel. Oversee various safety and health programs including equipment guarding, fall prevention, and crane rigging while assessing compliance with OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations. Drive continuous improvements through the Safety Culture Improvement Plan, Behavior Based Safety Program, and SafeStart Now initiatives. Serve as the primary safety liaison for the Manufacturing Quality Learning Center, Lilly Aviation Facility, and Greenwood Innovation Center. Conduct compliance audits, perform root cause analysis on incidents, and lead special safety initiatives such as injury prevention and new hire programs. Function as a safety representative for capital projects and assist with contractor management. Lead the development of systems and training to eliminate workplace risks and manage HSE software platforms. Provide expert regulatory consulting to business area customers and track external regulatory changes. This role supports Lilly's mission of achieving an injury-free workplace across Indianapolis locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (prefer chemical, electrical or mechanical) or HSE discipline
- Minimum 7 years of HSE experience in industrial and construction/contractor work environments
- Work experience in managing contracts
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Professional certification/license (e.g., PE, CSP, etc.)
