Job Summary

The Senior Principal Engineer - Automation Engineering will lead automation support for operating areas and capital projects, focusing on Instrumentation and Control Hardware. Key responsibilities include managing the productivity and mentorship of engineers, ensuring compliant control systems, and collaborating on process control technical agendas. The role requires deep expertise with DeltaV DCS and Rockwell PLCs, experience in automation engineering activities (design, development, commissioning), and a thorough understanding of 21CFR Part 11 and GMP processes. The candidate should have a proven ability to resolve complex technical challenges and lead projects from concept through commissioning.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum B.S. in Engineering
  • 8+ years working experience in Biopharma engineering, operations, or manufacturing
  • Biotech or Small Molecule Experience
  • Demonstrated initiative, good planning and organizational skills
  • Possess a keen technical curiosity and strong problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in highly automated Greenfield Pharmaceutical facility
  • Experience in clinical-stage manufacturing with flexible, multi-product capabilities
