Job Summary
Senior Principal Engineer – Process Engineering role focused on synthetic drug product manufacturing across global sites (OSD and innovative forms, including ASD/ spray drying and SEDDS). Lead early design inputs, technical strategy, and platform standardization for controlled bioburden manufacturing. Drive cross-functional collaboration with R&D, MSAT, Quality, EHS, and Operations; influence equipment and technology choices; pursue harmonization and best-practice exchange; maintain industry network connections; and contribute to digital/real-time monitoring initiatives. Requires MSc (or equivalent) in Engineering/Pharmaceutical Sciences, 10+ years in relevant field, cGMP knowledge, strong leadership, and willingness to travel up to 25%. English proficiency; additional languages advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in synthetics controlled bioburden drug product manufacturing
- Experience with OSD processes and ASD/SEDDS technologies
- Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory expectations for drug product manufacturing
- Experience leading multi-functional teams and collaborating across sites
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related technical field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in synthetics controlled bioburden drug product manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of oral solid dose (OSD) processes, including batch and continuous manufacturing
- Experience with amorphous solid dispersions (ASD), spray drying, SEDDS or similar innovative drug product formulations
- Aseptic capability is a plus
- Proven ability to lead multi-functional teams and influence technical decisions in global organizations
- Proficiency in cGMP environments and regulatory expectations for drug product manufacturing
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across sites and external partners
- English proficiency; additional languages a plus
