Job Summary

Requirements capture, ASIC/FPGA digital architecture design, RTL development, timing analysis and closure, verification, and system integration for next-generation aerospace and defense applications. Drive continuous improvement by implementing new tools and methodologies within the design flow, while contributing to engineering estimates and technical planning for Mission Systems programs. Provide technical leadership for project design teams by defining scope, coordinating activities, and reporting status to ensure alignment with schedule, cost, and performance objectives. This onsite role in Fort Wayne, IN, supports the Microelectronics Technology team in developing high-performance digital solutions for civilian, military, and government customers.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum 10 years prior relevant experience
  • Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience (if holding an Advanced Degree)
  • Hands-on experience with RTL design, coding, and simulation using VHDL and/or Verilog
  • At least 5+ years experience with digital circuit architecture, resource optimization, timing analysis, and timing closure
  • At least 5+ years experience developing and executing RTL verification testbenches using VHDL or SystemVerilog
  • Proficiency with ASIC and/or FPGA simulation, synthesis, and implementation tools (ModelSim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado, or similar)
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams while managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables
  • Onsite work location in Fort Wayne, IN

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with ASIC/FPGA lab validation and debug using standard lab equipment
  • Familiarity with DFT, manufacturability, and production test concepts
  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux environments
  • Scripting or software development skills in C, C++, Python, or Perl
  • Industry-standard ASIC/FPGA simulation and synthesis tools such as QuestaSim, Synplify, Quartus, or Vivado
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, multidisciplinary engineering environments
