Job Summary
Oversee the design and analysis of facilities and subsystems supporting the Sentinel Program's Minuteman III missile upgrade and flight test facilities. Conduct electrical analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation of ground, facility, and launch power systems. Author and release engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures. This role operates on a 9/80 schedule with a standard work week of nine hours Monday through Thursday. The position requires a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
- 8 years of experience
- 6 years of experience with a Master's degree
- 4 years of experience with a PhD
- US Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time
- Electrical engineering experience in at least two of the following fields: electrical architecture, power systems, cable design, circuit design, interface definition (internal and/or external), or power distribution
- Knowledge of industry/military codes and standards, including mil-specs, IEEE, NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEC, and UFC
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledgeable with Siemens Teamcenter PLM or equivalent
- Working experience designing, troubleshooting (RCA) and/or implementing ground power systems, facility power systems and/or launch power systems
- Experience with high-power and/or high-frequency systems, including power electronics
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, shielding techniques, and thermal management for electronic systems
- Authorship and release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures
- Working experience with designing cables to IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting
- Experience maintaining and reporting status of program activities
